Melissa Briones is working as an Articled Student at Lonsdale Law. Melissa graduated from the University of the Philippines College of Law and obtained a grade in the top 10 percentile of the 2006 Philippine Bar examinees. She obtained her Canadian Certificate of Qualification from the National Committee on Accreditation in 2017.
Before receiving her Bachelor of Laws (equivalent of a JD), she was an Executive Producer for ABS-CBN Corporation, the leading Philippine media conglomerate. She started her career in law as an associate for a tax law firm and then as assistant corporate counsel for a real estate developer before returning to ABS-CBN to become its corporate counsel.
When she immigrated to Canada in 2011, Melissa worked as the editor-in-chief of Canadian Inquirer, one of the largest Filipino-Canadian newspaper published Canada-wide. After graduating with a degree in Human Resources Management (with honours) in Ashton College in Vancouver, she moved on to become the Legal Officer and HR Manager of Organika, a vitamin and health supplement company.
Melissa is an amateur satellite archeologist who enjoys dragonboat rowing, Broadway musicals, writing short stories, hiking and travelling to ancient sites and ruins.
